Playing Ball with Poppy

Playing with a ball is one of Saralyn's favorite things. Let her play ball outside and she is in heaven. One afternoon we went to see Poppy and T. They got out in the yard with her and played ball. She had just kneeled down on one knee just like Poppy, but I wasn't able to get the picture fast enough. She also loves seeing and feeding Poppy's fish in his pond.

Go Ducky Go...

The LaVergne library had many activities this summer with their Summer Reading Program. They include toddlers, so every 10 books we read from the library, Saralyn would get to pick out a prize. She really enjoys books and going to the library and picking out new ones every other week. Her favorite special event activity was the Duck Race. Each child was given a little rubber ducky with a number on it and they had a river set-up in front of the library. In groups of 10, the ducks would 'race' down the river and the winner would receive a prize. Our duck didn't win, but Saralyn had so much fun watching all the excitement. "Go ducky, go"

4th of July Holiday Weekend

July 3rd, we had lunch with the Yambor's. You just got to love grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and spending time with family. Saralyn and Paul enjoyed taking a swim in Grandma and Grandpa's pool. Very refreshing for a nice hot day.

Rachel teaching Saralyn how to drink from a straw. What a big girl she is becoming and way too fast!!
Saturday Saralyn enjoyed playing in her princess pool. She really loves the water and being outside.

Saralyn getting her "ooooo, ahhhhh" face ready for Poppy's fireworks display.

It was a such a treat to have my uncle Revis, from Denver Colorado, visit with us this year for 4th of July holiday, which is also his birthday. We hope you had a wonderful birthday. It was great to see you!

We're Having a BOY!

The morning of July 9th was a big day for our family. We went to the doctor for our first ultrasound on baby Yammy. He didn't want to cooperate at first, but after some jiggle here and there, he moved his little feet out of the way so we could see if we were expecting another girl or boy addition to our family. Paul was speachless. I don't think he believed them at first. So they showed us again, no doubting it, it's a boy. We came home and showed Saralyn the pictures of 'Baby Bro' and she started saying, "Baby Bro". We haven't decided on a name or the nursery yet. I'm sure it will all come together.

'Baby Bro' in deep thought about what's to come on his birth day and wondering about his new family.

Saralyn

Saralyn loves to play 'ball'. Here she is playing ball on the steps with Grandma Yambor.
Saralyn and I went to one of Aunt Marcie's friend's wedding and while they were taking pictures of the wedding party before the reception, Saralyn had fun running around and posing for pictures on the front lawn of the Belmont Mansion.

Summer Summer Summer

I really thought I would be better at keeping our blog updated through the summer, but here it is June and I've not done anything here since May. Saralyn keeps me busy during the days and at night we enjoy family dinners and a walk at the Smyrna park before Saralyn's bath and bedtime routine. She is growing so fast. Seems to be even faster since it's summer. Can the heat do that? Make you grow faster?

We finished up our 2nd round of swim lessons at the YMCA. We are still working on floating on her back, but Saralyn loves the water. She really enjoys going down the slide at Poppy and T's house (Granddad Compton and TJ).

Memorial Day weekend we took a trip to GA to visit NaNa and aunt Marcie and uncle Boo. We got to go swimming in their pool. We got Saralyn a little boat for the trip and she got to try it out for the first time. She loved it!!
Uncle Boo and Saralyn reading a book, one of her favorite things to do.
On the way back home, we stopped in Chattanooga at the Carousel for a ride. Saralyn choose to ride the fish.

This is the Princess dress T got for her. She wore this on Easter Sunday. We had lunch with Grandad, T, Eddie and Susan at Miller's Grocery. I love that place!! After lunch we went back to Grandad and T's to have Easter with them. Saralyn really loved the little shovel that came with her 'beach' wagen. Who knew, all we needed to get her was a shovel.?

Easter Morning, Let the Egg Hunt Begin

Saralyn emptied out her first Easter basket in preperation for her Easter Egg Hunt. Let the Egg Hunt Begin... I help Saralyn find 2 eggs, then she was off and running. She knew what to do and had a blast. We hid and found Easter eggs for days.

Saralyn's Easter basket from NaNa. I think she is hoping for more eggs....

Easter

Saralyn, our little princess. All dressed up for Easter service.

NaNa and Saralyn

Our church's Easter Service was held at MTSU's Murphy Center. They had an Easter Bunny, which Saralyn walked right up to him and posed for her picture. She loved watching the baby ducks and little chicks and bunny rabbits.

The Girl Loves Her Corn

Saralyn loves her corn-on-the-cob, just like her mommy. She is getting so big....
She also love books. We go to the Library once every 2 weeks and I let her pick out new books to check out. There is usually a Duck book and a dogie book, since those are her two favorite animals.

My First Craig's List Purchase

As you may remember, I searched Craig's List for this slide. The first one I found was in Columbia and it sold before I could get it. Then I found one in Mt. Juliet. This has been the best purchase for Saralyn so far. She loves this slide and yes we still have it in our living room. After all, it's all about Saralyn. We also bought a Step2 buggy car. She loves riding in that when we go on walks. She beeps her horn and rocks back and forth saying "go, go" when daddy isn't going fast enough.

Pre-School Spring Program

March 17 we had our big event at Pre-School, our Spring Art Show and Music Program. Blair, my assistant and I spent weeks preparing and getting art work completed for our class. I chose an Easter theme since it's spring and Easter is my favorite holiday. It turned out really nice.

Saralyn participated with the one year old class, eventhough she is not in that class this year, in the music program. Not that I'm biased or anything, but she was the best one up there!!

Sleeping at Grandad's Office

A few weeks ago, Saralyn and I were working at Grandad's office and she decided to take a little snooze. Not sure if Grandad has this effect on other patients or not. As you can see, she is completely out in one of Grandad's treatment rooms.

Also, be sure to visit our blog page for the link to view pictures from Saralyn's 1st Birthday photo shoot. Enjoy!!

All Dressed Up

Saralyn looked too cute in her purple plaid dress, I had to take a picture.
